摘要

With loss of control events still threatening general aviation operations, this paper intends to provide a framework to investigate and examine pilots' focus during critical phases of flight. With previous research already demonstrating the potential of flap configuration change as an inducer to loss of control, eye-tracking experiments on general aviation expert pilots will allow analysis of the human aspects of flight operations and the user's role during critical phases of flight. The paper considers the state of the art of eye-tracking equipment and emphasizes specifically configurations integrating eye-tracking and virtual reality as a substitute to real flight. The plan will outline how eye-tracking data will be collected and what analyses will be performed for gathering valuable information enhancing human-systems integration. The setup is complete and experiments will start early next year.
