GENETIC DIVERSITY OF GERMPLASMIC RESOURCES OF Brassica campestris IN CHINA

The 172 landraces of B. campestris were analyzed by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) techniques. The 248 polymorphic bands were amplified by 43 screened random 10-mer primers. Through clustering by UPGMA, germplasm of B. campestris were separated into 15 groups: 6 groups are northern (China) B. campestris; 9 groups are southern (China) B. campestris. B. campestris originated in China exhibited abundant genetic diversity. The diversity level of spring-habit is higher than winter-habit in China. The genetic diversity of northern (China) B. campestris is relative closely to geographical regions, but southern (China) B. campestris is not in the case. The core germplasm of B. campestris in China is developed preliminarily and methods of developing a core collection are also discussed.
