摘要

The 2014 Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak in West Africa was the largest in history and served as a wakeup call for the healthcare industry. In particular, the two US healthcare workers infected while caring for a patient in Texas triggered a flurry of concern about CDC guidelines and the capabilities of US hospitals to adequately protect their employees. In reality, these concerns were legitimate and underscored the need for improved planning by and between hospitals and public agencies.
