A Proposal of Descriptive Geometry Using Unique Facilities of 3D-CAD

A personal computer has been popular. Therefore, in Designing and Drawing, its tools (triangles and compasses) are replaced by Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, which is advanced to three dimensions. Since mastering 3D-CAD software makes advantage in getting a job, professional schools having training courses for it increases. Universities are also taking measures to meet the situation. Lectures for "descriptive geometry" which are base of drawing using triangles and compasses are decreasing. We grouped for "education method" which is as effective as "descriptive geometry" using 3D-CG applications. As results, we indicate we can apply the same concepts of "descriptive geometry", besides for high-end 3D-CAD. The concepts of "descriptive geometry", therefore, can be applied to today education. The difference as media of both is clear. Also, the difference of tool's facilities is accurate. It may be responsibility of Graphic Science researchers to systemize an effective education method by finding "graphical solving methods" for 3D- CG/CAD including existing "descriptive geometry". In this report, we propose a solving method using 3D-CAD original facilities, after showing a solving method using existing "descriptive geometry" in 3D-CAD.
