An automatic solar data acquisition system constructed in our Laboratory, is presented in this paper. It mainly consists of photodiodes used as solar transducers, other sensors such as thermometer, hygrometer and barometer, conditioning amplifiers, an analogical - numeric converter, a 68HC11 microcontroller and a RS232 interface connected to a PC microcomputer. Preliminary tests show that this data acquisition system can collect global solar radiation measurements with a reasonably good accuracy. Since it is easily portable, it is suitable for outdoor experimentation.
