NSWC Crane 23 October 2012 Fire Event Engineering Root Cause Analysis Reportable Findings

A battery fire event occurred at NSWC Crane Division Building 3325 battery test facility on 23 October 2012 at approximately 23:00. This Navy Class A mishap resulted in a NAVSEA directed Safety Investigation Board (SIB) analysis with actionable recommendations included in their report. One recommendation from the SIB was to perform an Engineering Root Cause Analysis (ERCA) of the event and to distribute the findings to the broadest battery community possible.
