摘要

Work-related upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSDs) are prevalent in occupations involving hand intensive activities. In order to quantify the risks involved in these jobs, upper extremity postures are often need to be measured. Checklist-type observation techniques are commonly used ergonomists in order to measure the upper extremity working postures. The reliability of observational assessment tools is influenced by the observer's capacity processing posture estimation in a real-time posture assessment. In an off-site posture observation using worker's posture in photos/videos, the camera angle, size of the body parts, and video quality also influence on the individual difference of postural risk assessment (Bao et al., 2009). Objectively obtaining details of body movement using wearable inertial sensors might be a possible alternative to human-judgment based observational methods for minimizing individual differences of the risk assessment.
