Rapid prototyping tools for commercial autopilots

This paper presents two techniques that aid in reducing the design effort in the development of autopilots for commercial aircraft. A QFT based frequency response shaping technique is proposed for the design of gain schedules for the various modes of the autopilot control law. An array logic based scheme is suggested for the modelling and simulation of the autopilot mode logic.
