Lurgi FBDB Gasification Technology is used for the production of synthesis gas from coal. The synthesis gas that is generated is used as feedstock to various processes. The raw synthesis gas exiting the gasifier contains hydrocarbons and water both in gaseous phase. During the cooling, the hydrocarbons are condensed including the water vapor present thus forming a condensate liquid stream. From the condensate streams, tar and oil are recovered as co-products.After the raw gas has been cooled, it is sent to a cleaning process (e.g. Rectisol wash) for the removal of acidic gas components such as CO_2, H_2S. During the removal of acidic gases, components such as benzene, toluene and xylene present in the raw gas can also be recovered, e.g. in the pre-wash section at Rectisol. These components are collectively referred to as naphtha fraction which is another co-product.
