A cost-effective ultra-dense front-haul solution based on a DSP-assisted Analogue Radio-over-Fiber architecture, deploying low-bandwidth optics (10GHz), advanced modulation formats for 25Gbps application, Optical Beamformers and Triplex ROADMs for installation in a legacy environment is presented and evaluated against alternative digital approaches.
