Operating models of Network protocols IoT: Short-range protocols

Internet of Things (IoT) is a new and complex concept that has emerged in recent years. IoT form an extremely diverse family, constantly expanding, based on existing communication techniques and protocols. The diversity of network protocols responds to the heterogeneity of billions of communicating objects. There are dozens of different technologies, which each have their particularities in terms a set of criteria. However, the lack of a single connectivity protocol causes a lack of interoperability between IoT devices and applications. In this article, we will present the operating models of network Short-range protocols. There models facilitates the in-depth understanding of how network protocols work using the activity diagram. Subsequently, this will help to choose the adaptable protocol for a type of IoT applications. We classify the protocols into three categories. There is Short-range protocols, Medium range protocols and Long-range protocols. We focus on the Short-range protocols namely Bluetooth, Zigbee, and NFS.. We used the activity diagram, which is a behavioral diagram of UML; it allows to graphically representing the behavior of these protocols.
