In this work, we demonstrate theoretically that a planar metamaterial can achieve electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), in which insensitive to the incident angle and polarization of electromagnetic waves. We describe simple metamaterial designs that able to support exciting the high Q-value antisymmetric trapped-mode. These features enable the proposed metamaterials to achieve potential applications in filtering, data storing, switching, and sensing. Finally, we have realized analog of electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) by its complementary of this metamaterials structure.
