This work explains the design and analysis of a triple-band electrically small coplanar waveguide-fed zeroth-order resonating (ZOR) antenna. The presented antenna is composed of 2-cell of the composite right/left handed (CRLH) artificial structure, with an overall electrical size including the ground plane of 0.021λ0×0.063λ0×0.004λ0 at 1.61GHz (ZOR mode) and physical dimension of 4 × 11.7 × 0.8 mm3. The simulation results show good impedance bandwidth of 78%, 44%, and 21% for the three bands centered at 1.61, 3.38, and 6.8GHz, with the peak gain of 3.28, 3.12 and 4.14dBi. The antenna provides a higher level of compactness, wider bandwidth and good efficiency. Therefore, the proposed antenna is suitable for use in GPS L1 band (1.565-1.585GHz), WiMAX 3.5GHz (3.4-3.8GHz), and C-band (4-8GHz) wireless application systems.
