摘要

The paper presents work on applying a genetic algorithm, utilizing a multiobjective function, to determine the most cost efficient mode of operation for an industrial process. The process under consideration is the Hot Dipped Galvanising line of a steelworks, which employs both cooling fans and a water bath to reduce the temperature of the steel strip. The results indicate that considerable cost savings can be made if the current strategy is altered in light of the presented work.
