The article deals with the problem of the electricity consumption simulation of the metallurgical production processes in short-term forecast period. A method of inter-level contradictions resolution in automated system based on an aggregate indicator has been developed. The offered indicator (the energy consumption cost reduction index) allows coordinating detailed representations of resources consumption dynamics at the local level of separate processes and generalized representations at the upper level. To minimize production costs in the context of time-of-day electricity rate, the work suggests the procedure of energy consumption short-term simulation and forecasting. The offered procedure is based on integral estimation of energy consumption schedules efficiency. The results evaluation was carried out on actual data of rolling mill shop of the iron and steel plant. Change in the shop-operating schedule gave an opportunity to improve electricity load curve efficiency and reduce energy costs by 5.9%.
