How Role Ambiguity and Role Conflict Effect Creativity of Employees in Local Domestic Manufacturing Industry: Evidence from Pakistan

How different performance incidents of an individual are associated with role stress have obtained significant consideration. Role stress has significant impact on creativity of an individual but still it is not clear how exactly role stress is linked with employee's creativity because it has hardly ever been studied empirically. Our study explores the relation of main two factors of role stressors named as role-ambiguity & role-conflict influence on creativity of employees as well as role of mediating factors in their relationship. A survey conducted for data collection through pairs of questionnaires, one from employees and other from their respective managers of local manufacturing industry of Pakistan. We used SPSS.19 for analysis to test our study hypotheses. Results of step-wise or hierarchal regression show that role ambiguity is negatively whereas role conflict is positively associated with creativity of employees.
