Contract Management Issues in System Integration Projects

This paper presents the specifics of Project Management (PM) during System Integration (SI) projects implementation. The problems that appear during SI projects implementation come across on the way of dealing with the subcontractors, as they need to meet the quality criteria provided by the client. The PM team on the other hand needs to very well understand the project requirements, constraints and other existing variables, and up to them to define the limits acceptable variations for conducting business under contract. Meaning that, all stakeholders have the same understandings on those definitions. But, the different stakeholders come form different industries and in many times they need to created those common understandings. In many cases the misunderstandings left projects underperforming, and those projects often represent those with highest priority for the client. Thus, we need to be proactive and open the discussion on what the common understandings bring to the project implementation, and focus on them.
