Stability analysis is an important part of the calculation of cable-stayed bridges. Generally, the stability of the construction phase and operation phase is calculated. In this paper, the basic theory of stability analysis is briefly introduced. Taking a 2×132m single-pylon cable-stayed bridge as an example, the wind-stabilized stability of the bare tower and the stability of the full bridge during the operation phase is analyzed based on the linear elasticity theory using Midas/civil software. Three kinds of load conditions are adopted in the stability analysis during the operation phase, live load on full bridge, live load on transverse partial bridge and live load on longitudinal partial bridge. The first five order buckling modes and the corresponding critical load coefficients are obtained from the calculation. The results show that the stability of the bridge meets the standard requirements.
