A transmission line model is developed to characterize electromagnetic plane wave coupling with a noncoaxial cable with apertures on its shield. The transfer impedance and admittance of a noncoaxial cable with one-line apertures on its shield are given in the closed form. Therefore, the transmission line equations are derived and solved for the noncoaxial cable. Moreover, the equivalent sources for describing field-to-wire coupling with outer shield are presented in closed form. The proposed model is employed to predict the current induced inside the inner conductor of the noncoaxial cable with line apertures on its shield. In addition, our results are validated by making a comparison with the results from the commercial software FEKO, where good agreements are obtained.
