The enhanced gap source model is combined with the interpolation technique to efficiently analyze the input impedance of the planar antennas over a wide frequency band. The enhanced gap source model is a simple feeding model considering the gap width, by which the stable and accurate results can be obtained. When using the interpolation technique, the impedance matrices at matching frequencies are firstly computed. Then, the impedance matrix over the frequency band can be obtained by interpolating the matching matrices. The efficiency can be significantly improved by using the interpolation technique. To prove the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed technique, two numerical examples are performed. Simulation results show that the results of the proposed technique agree well with those of direct calculation. The efficiency is also demonstrated.
