Superconducting coils are the core components of large high-magnetic field equipment. Epoxy resin as the inter-turn insulation in the coil will be under the influence of a strong magnetic field during the operation of the device. High magnetic field environment directly affects the insulating properties of epoxy resin. The finite element simulation method was used to obtain the magnetic field distribution of the epoxy resin in the superconducting coil. The simulation results show that the magnetic field in the epoxy resin is distributed in a gradient and the maximum field strength can reach 4.2 T. The dielectric constant of epoxy resin under Different magnetic field strengths was measured through experiments. The experimental results show that in the magnetic field of 0–3 T, the dielectric constant of epoxy resin decreases with the increase of the magnetic field. This work will provide effective data for insulation design of superconducting coil.
