The research on mechanical and magnetic proper ties of soft materials has attracted much attention, and also att racted great attention in the field of robotics. Suitable soft mat erials are particularly important for the fabrication of soft rob ot matrix. Hydrogel is a kind of hydrogel with water as the disp ersion medium. It is a kind of high water absorption and high water retention material with soft properties, which can maint ain a certain shape and absorb a large amount of water. In this paper, Fe3O4/PVA magnetic hydrogel was prepared from mic ron Fe3O4 powder and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) by repeated fr eezing-thawing technique, and its morphologic structure, swelling property, mechanical property and magnetic property wer e analyzed and studied. The results show that the fusion of mag netic hydrogels can be improved after freezing. No matter the n umber of freezing-thawing times or the Fe3O4 content is a vari able, the swelling rate is always reduced, while the mechanical properties are improved, and the external magnetic field stren gth is always proportional to the magnetization of the hydrogel itself.
