The interlayer debonding of bridge deck pavement affects the overall durability of the bridge. Monitoring of the bridge deck pavement using a non-destructive method is important in the formulation of rehabilitation strategies that may be applied to the structures. Impact sounding technique is one of the preferred approaches due to its simplicity and affordability. This study aims to determine the frequency range with reference to the bark scale at which the sound of interlayer debonding can be recognized. This study uses Principal Component Analysis to determine which frequency range gives a better cluster that will eventually make it easy to classify bonded and unbounded pavement.
