Shunt reactor with auxiliary winding system can compensate line capacitive reactive power and provide power for switching station. There are large amount of air gaps in the iron core of the reactor, leading to weak coupling relationship between shunt reactor winding and auxiliary winding. According to the special structure of shunt reactor with auxiliary winding system, an inter-turn protection principle of shunt reactor with auxiliary winding system based on zero sequence current phase and amplitude protection is proposed. And mechanism of magnetizing inrush current is analyzed, and the magnetizing inrush current blocking method of protection inter-turn protection is proposed. The protection proposed can improve the sensitivity of the inter-turn protection of the shunt reactor with auxiliary winding system, prevent the misoperation of the no-load closing and out-of-area fault, and improve the reliability.
