This paper presents two approaches, i.e. network delay based and rtansmission function based methods, to the analysis of distributed simulation. Both of these approaches use the well known critical path analysis for the prediction of the distributed simulation. The critical path analysis requires event traces from simulation runs and information about the execution time of each event. Parallel event traces, i.e. event traces that contain both real and null messages, are used for the analysis. In distributed environnent the event execution time depends on the actual processing time of the events and the effect of the network, i.e. network delay. The network delay based method models the network delay as a single variable, whereas transmission function based method represents the effect of network through send and receive functions. The network delay based approach is quite easy to apply but does not give as accurate results as the transmission function based approach does.
