Chitosan microspheres crosslinked with genipin were prepared by a spray-drying method and were characterized in terms of morphology, loading efficiency, zeta potential and X- Ray Diffraction. The effect of the crosslinking agent and crosslinking time on the in vitro drug release was evaluated. Microspheres showed a controlled release kinetic. The model drug used in this study was tramadol hydrochloride.
