Numerical simulations of shaped charge liner collapse as well as experimental results of jets from shaped charge firings are used to investigate the influence of parameters in addition to the liner velocity on the coherence of the jets. Of specific interest is the underlying physics which determines the radial dispersion of elements of the leading particles of incoherent jets. The role of the radius of curvature of the liner elements through the collapse junction and the pressure and compression that exists during the collapse phase is investigated.
