This paper presents the capability of advanced InSARrntime-series techniques such as Small BAseline Subsetrn(SBAS) for monitoring of civil engineering structuresrnlike bridge. Deformation monitoring of bridges arernessential to mitigate not only the financial and humanrnlosses, but also ecological and environmental-relatedrnproblems. Assessment of deformation during bridgernlifespan can provide invaluable insight for betterrnplanning and management. The study area, Lake UrmiarnCauseway (LUC) in northwest Iran, consists of onernbridge and two embankments on both sides of it. Therndifference between the deformation rate of thernembankments on both sides of the bridge may seriouslyrndamage the bridge itself, so it is very important tornaccurately monitor them in space and time in order tornassess the state of the bridge concerning deformations.rnIn this study we apply the InSAR time-series techniquernof SBAS for 58 SAR images including 10 ALOS, 30rnEnvisat and 18 TerraSAR-X (TSX) to assess deflationrnof embankments of Urmia bridge during 2003-2013.rnThe InSAR results are used in a 2D Finite ElementrnModel (FEM) to assess structural stability of thernembankments.
