As a society, we need to find ways to use all our resources wisely. Electric vehicles may provide grid storage and improve the utilization of renewable resources. Groups of large vehicles such as the fleets of mid-sized service trucks operated by a school district or a military base or municipality are of interest. Service fleets returned to charging stations when not in use provide near-term technology development opportunities. Large bidirectional batteries will be synchronized and on-line continuously while at their charging stations. Testing, control, continuous data collection, and economics are discussed. Fleet vehicles are a viable option for grid storage.
