ASSESSMENT OF ACOUSTICAL QUALITY IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDING - CASE REPORT

The sound pollution has become in urban areas a problem of increasing magnitude. A several external noises' sources coming from traffic jams, air conditioning systems in the scholar environmental (for example: roof fans or air conditioning units), as well internal noises coming from non-presence of acoustic isolating, they are the cause for the high-level noises in the classrooms. In the case of educational buildings, the acoustical quality of the building is an item isn't considered for the architects and engineers as very important point of the building design, in the despite of the importance of educational activities. The good standards of acoustic can be achieved, when the high-level of acoustics technology is applied. This work analyzes the acoustical conditions in the classroom. A classroom of educational public has chosen to be analyzed the sound with external and internal interferences. The followings were investigated: the reflection of noise in the classroom, the relation between sign source and noise, in the value of intelligibility.
