Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation of PH3 over Transition Metal Oxide Catalysts

Phosphine (PH3) is a kind of impurity in yellow phosphoric tail gas. Phosphine is virulent, it pollutes environment, and influences recycling of yellow phosphoric tail gas. For avoiding environmental pollution and reducing costs of yellow phosphorus production, PH3 must be removed from yellow phosphoric tail gas.In this paper, PH3 was purified with catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) and many transition metal oxides and mixed metal oxides were made for purifying PH3.Catalytic activities of these catalysts were compared through experiments. In order to enhance catalytic activity, catalysts were optimized with rare-earth. Experiments results showed that PH3 could be purified under the condition of high concentration CO, low temperature and microcontent oxygen.
