A series of novel synthesis along with sol-gel reaction has been prepared through incorporating inorganic silica networks into the EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber.First of all,maleation of EPDM was modified by grafting maleic anhydride (MAH) to the polymer backbone.Subsequently,ethanolamine,3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and glycerine were added to react with the maleic anhydride group to form grafted polyimides,respectively.
