摘要

The copolymer of acrylamide ( AM ) with dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride ( DMDAAC ) is widely used in enhanced oil recovery, water treatment, paper manufaeture, etc. The present study is foccused on the copolymerization of AM with DMDAAC initiated by (1) 2, 2'-Azobis -2-amidinopropanedihydrochloride ( AAP ·2HCl ), (2) redox initiation systems consisting of ammonium persulfate and sodium bisulfite.The copolymer initiated by AAP·2HCI obtain higher molecular weight and easier soluble in water. The polymerization was carried out at 60 ±1°C for AAP or 30 ±1°C for redox system in a thermostat. DMDAAC was purified by passing through activated carbon before use. water was deionized. This polymerization system was purged with nitrogrn for 15 min. The molecular weight of copolymer was determined by viscosmetry and caculated with the equation: [η]=3.73×10~(-4)Mw~(0.66)(g/dl, IN NaNO_a,30°C).
