摘要

Polyacrylamide(PAAm) of super high molecular weight has been widely used in many fields. However, the long indcuction period and gel formation of the aqueous polymerization of AAm in high concentrtion make it difficult for the preparation of super high molecular weight PAAm. We have reported the unique initiation system consistinng of N,N-dimethylaminoethyl-methacrylate (DMAEMA) and potassium persulfate(KPS) for AAm, which could give PAAm of super high molecular weight up to 10~8. In order to control the polymerization rate of AAm in high concentration to a moderate level, a ternary initiation system consisting of DMAEMA, KPS and sodium bisulfite was studied for polymerization of AAm in aqueous medium.
