Creating corrdinated printed textile designs for infants and girls

In the Textile Design I class, students create marketable designs for the apparel industry, researching target markets, designing and painting croquis and colorways, and mounting them in a professional manner. this is followed by skill building exercises in computer aided design using Freehand 5.5. Fall semester, 1998, a professional project was introduced to further increase the students' skills in computer aided design as they responded to specifications provided by a firm located in metropolitan Washington, D.C.
