VERTICAL TRANSITION WITH ELASTOMERIC CONNECTORS

Several prototypes of vertical transitions with application of Shin-Etsu elastomeric connectors are designed and tested. The insertion loss of holder with elastomeric connector coupling two ground coplanar lines spaced at distance 5 mm is lower than 0.5 dB at lower frequencies only (below 2 GHz). Transition with properly separated elastomeric connectors is appropriate up to 4-5 GHz. And hybrid transition consisting of coaxial line ended with elastomeric connector can operate up-to Ku-band.
