Our interaction with the world is becoming dependent on mobile devices, it will be growing even more as the functionality of mobile devices is enhancing and our future is coupled with how efficiently, reliably, and quickly the communication is done. For the million devices, host-to-host based connectivity is challenging, the users of the devices are concerned with the content, not the location of the content, Content Centric is the only paradigm which retrieves the content by name not by the location. Schemes for the CCN are discussed in the literature, more focus of the schemes is towards the VANETs, replication of the data, retrieval of the content from the nearest replica, cache hits, popularity of the content, limited attention has been given to the storage, communication overhead and energy consumption of the node for the mobile CCN based networks. Storage plays very important role for the mobile devices. The mobile devices used for the communication have multiple applications running on it at the same time and each application has its own data set. Replicating the contents of others on the device (in case of adhoc network) effects the performance of the device badly. For each packet retrieval and packet generation, energy is being consumed, the node having the copy content serves as the master for the interest packets and consumes its energy. For the interest and the data packet, only necessary messages that need to be transmitted include 2 messages one interest and the other is data, instead multiple messages are being transmitted for the single request. We propose scheme named “ECD-CCN” for the mobile network that consumes less energy, communication overhead is less as compared with the explored existing schemes.
