Outcome of In Vitro Fertilization In Patients with Advanced Endometriosis; Role of Endometrloma

Introduction: Endometriosis is a common gynaecological disorder in which endometrial tissue (glandular epithelium and stroma) is found outside the uterine cavity. It affects 20-40% of women who complain of subfertility, although it can be found also in 5-10% of fertile women. The effects of ovarian endometrioma on fertility outcomes with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer have been causally related to poor outcomes. Objective: The principal aim of this study was to distinguish the outcome of Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) in patients with endometriosis in our academic In vitro Fertilization Program at the San Borja Arriaran Clinical Hospital - University of Chile, and to compare these results in two specific groups: patients with endometrioma and patients with endometrioma absent; in relation about cancellation; response to gonadotrophins, oocyte quality, fertilization, implantation and pregnancy rates.
