Comprehensive Capacity Building Derived From International Cooperation On Remote Sensing : Case Study

Developing countries which started to participate in space development experience not only space exploration itself but overall socio-economic development opportunities. In this article, a case study shows how international cooperation on remote sensing initiates comprehensive domestic capacity building: domestic education and human resource needs from preschool education to high education, domestic situation awareness on natural resources, food resources and renewable energy resources. Furthermore, this shows an interesting aspect of social development which can be derived from space application; introduction of remote sensing in various fields promoted interest on space development and application leads to the birth of domestic space industry, spin-offed to data processing, which might enable a leap to ICT new waves.
