摘要

Irreversible parasitic reactions cause poor rechargeability and efficiency of Li-O_2 batteries, and have predominantly been ascribed to the reaction of reduced oxygen species with cell components. Recently, it was demonstrated that singlet oxygen (~1O_2) formed at the cathode during discharge and from the onset of charge accounts for the majority of parasitic reaction rather than reduced oxygen species.
