摘要

This paper presents a simulation method to estimate the energy consumption of Web search engine processors. Web search engines are complex systems operating over large clusters of processors devised manage highly dynamic and unpredictable user query bursts. However, their computations present well defined patterns which makes it possible to predict performance in an accurate manner. The proposed method is based on the Multi-BSP model to capture the hardware costs and it includes an energy consumption model which considers hardware parameters, dominant cost operations and user queries.
