摘要

Worm wheels used for intermittent duty, the tooth root strength of worm wheels restricts the load of the gear. At present, the tooth root strength is calculated with analytical methods. To gain better results a local calculation method was figured out. To improve the user-friendliness, the calculation method was implemented in a computation program. This contains the preparation of the virtual model consisting of the geometry and the loads as well as the numerical calculation and the evaluation. The final result is the utilization factor to evaluate the worm gear.
