Tailor-made SNCR to Meet Future Emission Standards for Power Boilers

When the SNCR process was introduced in the eighties of the last century the focus was di- rected towards applying this low cost technology mainly in combustion plants. NO_x reduction rates of only 40 - 50 % were required. The usual temperature imbalances in these types of combustion plants did not cause any major problems. For higher NOx reduction rates, howev- er, the SNCR process was considered insufficient, and the SCR technology was usually ap- plied.
