Development and Use of an Ozonation Process Simulator at the F.J. Horgan Water Treatment Plant

The F.J. Horgan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is one of four water treatment facilities in the City of Toronto and is currently undergoing a 230 ML/d capacity expansion to increase its overall capacity to 800 ML/d. A major component of the expansion will be the conversion to ozone for primary disinfection and taste and odour control for the entire 800 ML/d process stream. Construction is currently on-going and the commissioning is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2011.
