Research on the impact of trace elements in landscape water bioremediation

This paper investigated the improvement of the water quality in the synthetic polluted landscape water by adding inorganic salt of trace elements B, Mn, Zn, Cu, Mo with bio-stimulant, and compared the influences of different elements. The results showed that elements B and Mo had significant effects on pollutants removal. The highest removal rates were 70.6% (CODCr (chemical oxygen demand)), 50.0% (NH3-N (ammonia nitrogen)), 23.6% (TP (total phosphorus)) in the sample with element B and bio-stimulant, and 58.8% (CODCr), 54.5% (NH3-N), 28.5% (TP) in the sample with Mo and bio-stimulant. The removal rates of CODCr and TP were nearly 15% and 13% higher than the sample only with bio-stimulant. However, NH3-N concentration in all these samples was not reduced effectively.
