Study on radical well structure of integrating seepage flow and pipe flow

With the emergence of the new type well, radical well, combined horizontal-wells with vertical-wells, can effectively collect groundwater in the different hydrogeology conditions, especially in the shallow and low-permeability thick aquifer. Based on radial well unsteady pumping tests in Tailan river watershed in Aksu area of Xinjiang, the article develops the numerical model integrating seepage flow and pipe flow, and analyzes the yield of different radial well structure under the condition of fixed-drop. The results show that the yield of different radial well structure is two times as large as general well in the thick unconfined aquifer. In the alluvial-diluvial fan oasis regions, the yield of radial pipe will be the best when radical pipes are installed three rows and the number of each row is 8∼10m and the length of one radical pipe is 20∼25m.
