(ECCC-139)Development of the High Speed Thin Slab Casting Technology of POSCO

摘要

POSCO developed thin slab high speed casting technology, which enables to reach the speed of 8.0 m/min and theannual production capability of 1.8 million tons a year. Mechanical design improvement and high speed castingtechnology development have been carried over. In particular, the mold pool flow control technology, the moldlubrication technology, the mold cooling channel technology for primary cooling, the low head wide impinging highintensity spray technology for secondary cooling, the mold level control technology, the highly efficient breakoutdetection technology enabled successful operation and performance increase.
