It is difficult to describe volcanic gas reservoirs, and this is the common understanding of the hydrocarbon exploration workers both at home and a-broad. Different volcanic rock lithologic facies belts have different kinds of pore types and fissures due to the control of volcanic lithology distribution. The distribution of favorable volcanic reservoirs are dominated by volcanic lithology distribution, and the facies controlled prediction for favorable reservoirs can be brought into operation with higher accuracy only when the volcanic rock lithology mode has been established correctly. For this reason, the multi azimuth and multi offset VSP, which is internationally popular at present, is applied to the prediction of volcanic lithology in Daqing. Based on the technique, the prediction accuracy of volcanic reservoir is increased. The application results of this technique are discussed in this paper.
