Understanding the adsorption of hydrogen on carbon supported Pt nanoparticles is crucial in the development of PEM fuel cell catalysts.However,there are few spectroscopic methods which are able to probe adsorbed hydrogen (atomic or molecular).Inelastic neutron scattering (INS) is an ideal probe because neutrons are particularly sensitive to the presence of hydrogen due to its large scattering cross-section.
