Leshan Great Buddha ,62m tall and to be cut on the cliff, is extant biggest ancient stone statue in world. Its cover is made of material of lime, clay and etc. To design protecting works of the Buddha it is important to know its existing condition. Near sterephotograph, resistivity survey, nuclear geophysical method and acoustic wave method had been used to know the extant condition of the stone inscription, underground water and the outline of stone statue and damages inside it The results of geophysical surveys are quite good.
